In between instruction, music is played and painters work at their own pace until the next step is given. She did a great job explaining the entire process before the painting instruction began and helped us feel welcome and comfortable at the studio. Our instructor this past Friday night, Carrie, was enthusiastic and engaging. This is a great time to grab a snack as it can be difficult to paint and eat at the same time.
The studio doors open about a half hour prior to the start of paint instruction and the kitchen begins taking orders. We tried the sampler appetizer basket and while clearly it’s no gourmet meal, it definitely hit the spot.

I recommend having dinner before arriving if you are real hungry, but the Muse menu offers mozzarella sticks, bruschetta, mac and cheese, small pizzas, and more. The small bar offers a decent selection of beer, wine, soft drinks, and a small menu of snacks that can be enjoyed before painting begins. All you need to do is grab your apron and a drink. The staff even pours the paint colors onto your paper plate palette. Each place is set with all necessary materials for creating your masterpiece.
A seating chart is prepared and place cards are set out ahead of time to ensure your group of friends will sit together. Upon registering for a paint night on the website, you will be asked the names of those in your party. Several tables fill the room surrounding a bar located towards the back and a stage area along the side for the instructor. The atmosphere within Muse is modern and trendy. Market Street is a happening place and the addition of a paint bar simply adds to the appeal of a night out for dinner, shopping, AND perhaps some creative expression. This new Muse location just opened within the Market Street shopping plaza. However, this was my first visit to the Muse Paint Bar chain. I am certainly not new to the current «Paint and Sip» phenomenon as I frequent these events about twice a month at various locations. Okay, so I am exaggerating just a little bit, yet I am happy to pave the way for this new paint bar’s promising Unilocal reputation. Their selection of craft beers was quite exquisite, a beer from New Orleans called Purple Haze was absolutely delicious.I was so determined to be the first to review, I am writing this before the paint on my canvas has even had a chance to dry.
We bought a bottle of wine, and I ordered a couple of beers. Mhmmm delicious! A great snack while you work. Drinks and a simple food menu, we got mozzarella sticks and spinach and feta puff pastries. Supplies are laid out at each easel with the paint to be used, but multiple colors are available for you to work with.The bar is simple and straightforward. A hall to hang your jacket and a wall with multiple apron sizes available, sink to change your paint bucket water makes this place charming. The instructors make it fun and provide help and tips. The people that work the bar are also painters as well, and will go around the room to offer assistance. The place is a large open space, with three rooms available for private functions or an addition to an open paint night with different themes to paint. This was a postponed Valentine's day date as we were both working on Valentine's day.We had a lot of fun! This was our second paint night, my wife has done several of these with friends.
